Working Conditions
Psychiatrists work in hospitals, mental health clinics and private offices. Some psychiatrists may do telepsychiatry (seeing patients via videoconference to rural or remote sites). Like other physicians, they often work long hours. Some have private practices as well as being on staff at hospitals and most staff psychiatrists participate in an on-call roster.
