Salary
Salaries vary considerably depending on the company and the opticians' skills. Some opticians are paid commissions on the sale of optical devices.
According to the 2009 Alberta Wage and Salary Survey, Albertans in the Opticians occupational group earned from $10.00 to $35.00 an hour. The average wage was $19.16 an hour.
