    Athletic therapists who work with teams work long, hard and physically demanding hours. They must be present at all competitions and practices. Depending on the sport, this may require frequent travel or evening and weekend work.

    Salaries for certified athletic therapists vary greatly. Often, athletic therapists work on a term contract basis.

    According to the 2009 Alberta Wage and Salary Survey, Albertans in the Other Professional Occupations in Therapy and Assessment group earned from $15.90 to $40.25 an hour. The average wage was $27.20 an hour.
